The daunting day
Starting at a new place is always daunting, meeting new people and hoping to connect with them. Well this went smoothly for me, arriving early, getting a lovely introduction to all staff and a tour around the office, studio and shop which is located bellow.
During this first day I was set the task of sorting out samples from the SS19 collection. I had to sample from 26 fabric's ensuring there was 6 of each ready for customers requests, which they would then take to their milliner, if not bought from Lalage Beaumont's extensive range.
During this I fell in love with the blue fabric you can see in the image. This is 69% silk and 31% wool. The designer Lalage herself chose and designed the white pattern you can see. Upon feeling this fabric swatch, it was incredibly soft, which you could imagine against your skin. Other than that if you look closely you can see a rased diagonal line in blue, this intriaged me, it gives the already beautiful fabric an additional texure, which was also incredibly soft.
