Padlock branding
Padlock branding for the buyer of the company.
When I was approached and asked to do this I obviously said yes, whilst hiding my nerves, because I was going to be doing something on Adobe software which will be sent out to manufactures, after the designers approval.
First of all I was emailed a picture of the padlock that had reflections, in order to create an accurate idea of the product this needed to be eliminated. Taking the image onto Adobe Photoshop I used the clone stamp tool to copy the colouring from the right hand side of the padlock, giving the finish you can see.
The smallest logo of 8.3mm x 4.6mm was the requested sizing, matching with the original specifications from the designer and previous products. After showing the buyer we decided the sizing should be a lot larger, as when these are attached to a handbag, the logo would not be very visible. Moving forward from that discussion, I expanded the sizes to 12.5mm x 6.5mm and 14.6mm x 7.8mm (as seen in the image).
In both of our preferences the 12.5mm logo seem to catch our attention more than the others. It is not too large to be in your face, nor is it too small that it can not be seen.
I had then emailed the PDF to her, unfortunately I will not find out which was officially selected until the sample from the manufacture comes through. Hopefully this will be why I am still on placement.
